After talking to several professors and considering all the different factors including family finances, career paths, satisfaction, etc. we decided that we are going to Texas A&M. Both Rachel and I have always had a good feeling about it. I mentioned to Rachel that it feels like what Elder Bednar said at the last General Conference about the sun rising on a cloudy day.
There have been several professors that have told me that as soon as they hear back about their grant proposals they will contact me about becoming a research assistant. I also found out that, if the RA thing doesn't work out, I would most likely qualify for a department scholarship and in-state tuition. We also realized that the cost of living is almost half as much in Texas as it would be in Salt Lake City and they have much better job placement. Plus, I don't really want to be a Ute...
So, College Station, here we come!

hoo hoo!!
Yay!! That's exciting!
Welcome to the MOTHER LAND! I'm SOOO excited Rachel and Jeremy. Family close by is the best best best. Plus now we have two draws to have Mom and Dad and Megan come out and visit. Thank you Texas A&M, we can't wait! When do you come?
We'll start traveling on the 8th of August. We'll probably take our time getting down there, so it will be around the 10th that we pull in. We'll be able to go to Tyler's baptism and hopefully get moved in or whatever before Jeremy heads off to El Salvador for the temple dedication. Jeremy should get back on the 22nd or 23rd. Classes start on the 24th. I think it's going to be a little crazy, but that's not any different than it always is.
We can help. Do you want some people we know to give recommendations on living quarters?
